- Three surfaces over one diary, moved between with a two-finger swipe: Calendar, your year as a map; Chronicle, the writing surface; Patterns, a rosette of the hours you keep.
- The editor takes an inline command language:
!remindmeand!birthdayset dates,!exerciselogs a session,cdmoves between days, and/similarfinds related entries. - Time has colour: each entry is tinted by the wall-clock hour it was written, and keeps that hour in any timezone.
- When a keyword search finds nothing, Aion searches by meaning instead, using an on-device language model.
- A Moon Phases widget for the desktop. An optional one-way backup to your own private iCloud, off by default.
- Export any day, year, or the whole diary to plain text or Markdown, and the Calendar and Patterns surfaces as high-resolution images.
