Where is my data stored?

In local files on your Mac, inside Application Support. See the privacy page for the exact scope.

Can I sync between devices?

There is no live sync. Aion keeps one diary on one machine. You can turn on a one-way backup to your own private iCloud.

Can I export my entries?

Yes. Export any day, year, or the whole diary as plain text or Markdown. The Calendar and Patterns surfaces also export as high-resolution images, and the diary itself is human-readable JSON on disk.

Aion says the diary is read-only

Another copy of Aion is already open. Only the first can write. Quit the other copy, then reopen this one.

The location is wrong or missing

Aion matches your position against a list of cities held inside the app, then asks macOS for anything further out. If neither gives the right answer, type the city.

A reminder has not appeared in Apple Reminders

Aion only sends reminders due within the coming week, so your Reminders list is not filled with entries months ahead. Anything further out arrives about a week before it is due. If nothing appears at all, check that Apple Reminders is turned on under Integrations and that you allowed access when asked.

A mirrored reminder is not in the list I expected

Aion adds it to your default Reminders list.

The Moon Phases widget is blank

Remove the widget and add it again. It draws from the date alone and needs nothing from your diary.
